The Body Shop® difference: Our Community Trade organic soy oil is produced in Brazil, where industrial soy farming is driving the deforestation of the Amazon. Most of the deforestation is through burning and logging to create huge agribusiness soy farms. Because the Capanema Farmers practice sustainable farming methods without the use of chemicals, they are helping to preserve nature, as well as their traditional way of life. The Body Shop® uses about 150 tons of soy oil a year—none of which, we can happily say, contributes to the destruction of the Amazon rainforest.
