Buriti Oil

From the Amazonian "tree of life", the oil of the Buriti nut contains one of the richest sources of beta-carotene and pro-vitamin A and helps soothe, soften and protect the skin against over-drying.

Marula Oil

Naturally rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids, marula oil from Namibia makes our lip colors glide on and gives our face and eye powders a smooth, hydrating finish while changing thousands of women's lives.

Our Community Trade marula oil comes from the fruit of the sacred marula tree found in southern Africa. Often the spiritual center for rural activity in the village, the tree has lush and leafy foliage that offers shade for village meetings. The super-moisturizing oil is slowly cold-pressed three times by members of the Eudafano Women’s Co-operative to ensure the highest quality. The co-op, which is 100% women-owned and women-run, provides 4,800 women with financial independence in a male-dominated society.

Organic olive oil from Italy

Is a natural moisturizer for normal to dry skin. It also helps condition hair, and give it a silky shine. Our olive oil is organic, and comes from our Community Trade partners in southern Italy.

The moisturizing olive oil in our products comes from an area in Italy that has produced olives since the middle ages. The Nuovo Cilento Co-operative formed as a result of people abandoning the land to seek work elsewhere. In a remarkable story of success over adversity, the co-operative has gone from strength to strength, cutting out the middle man to sell their organically produced olive oil directly, maximizing their profit and so preserving their traditional way of life. Every product you buy containing Community Traded olive oil further helps the community and local environment.
