Brazil nut oil

Moisturizes and helps to leave skin feeling soft.

The Body Shop gets Community Trade brazil nut oil from Peru, sourced through our unique fair trade program which ensures all producers and workers are paid a fair and living wage. The nuts are harvested from small farms and grown using traditional techniques, allowing the farmers to earn a fair income from an activity that fits their traditional way of life.

For centuries the women of Ghana have used cocoa butter to moisturize and cool their skin in the African heat. Since 1995, The Body Shop has been buying cocoa beans from the Kuapa Kokoo company in Ghana, a fair trade co-operative with over 30,000 small-scale farmers. The money made by the co-operative enables the development of community projects such as schools and village wells in addition to providing the farmers with income to support their families.

Organic Virgin Coconut Oil helps to condition the skin and hair to make you smooth, soft and deliciously scented. It also supports small, organic coconut farmers in Samoa, where there are few opportunities to earn a decent wage. Learn More

through the work of Women in Business Development Incorporated, rural communities in Samoa are benefiting from a revival in traditional crafts and farming practices. When Women in Business introduced The Body Shop to Samoan organic farmers, we knew that, when it comes to skin care, we'd be doing what comes naturally.

Shea butter

Moisturizes and helps soften the skin. Also provides a rural community of women with regular work and income.

Shea butter is one of nature's great moisturizers. Ghanaian women have used it for centuries to protect their skin from the dry Saharan winds. So who better to buy ours from than the Tungteiya Shea Butter Association, Northern Ghana. An association of around 400 women from 10 villages, we ensure a fair price for their product. Since trading with The Body Shop the women have been able to dramatically change their lives with water pipes and wells saving hours of water collecting, better housing, medical care, food, and self esteem. Importantly, they are also able to give their children, particularly their daughters, the chance to go to school.

Organic soya oil

Has moisturizing and healing properties that make it ideal for intensive skin care treatments. It's also a source of income for organic farmers in Brazil.

Through our trade, the Capanema farmers receive a fair and regular income for their soya beans, which means they are also able to preserve their traditional way of living. In Brazil, where so much Genetically Modified soya is produced for world markets, Community Trade initiatives are essential for supporting organic farmers.

Before bathing, pour a few drops of Dreams Home Fragrance Oil into one of our Oil Burners, light a tealight and let the heady scent of tropical flowers fill your bathroom to create a tranquil atmosphere.
Pour a frew drops of Monoi Miracle Oil into running bath water to create a wonderfully fragrant atmosphere.
During your bath, mix Monoi Miracle Oil with Purify & Plunge Bath Soak in the palms of your hands to create a richly fragrant and incredibly effective scrub paste to smooth over your skin in circular movements. This action will help stimulate circulation, deep cleanse and remove dead skin cells, leaving skin feeling refreshed, renewed and purified.
When dry, smooth Monoi Moisture Balm over your skin to moisturize.
