Rated 5 out of 5 by Great It's amazing for acne prone skin. You have to use it the correct way to see the benefits. Less is more so try diluting it with water if you have a sensitive skin and just dab it on the acne. The acne should be much smaller in size the next day. July 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by amazing this stuff works so well seriously! ive tried a lot of products to get rid of my stubborn little acne spots that would appear every so often and none would work as good as this tea tree oil it does the job and works very quickly! i also use it after i wax it takes away my redness and irritation its the best i cant go out without a bottle! Rated 5 out of 5 by Refreshing Scent Calms skin..Makes skin clean and clear. Not very strong to me. And i find that it is not a pure oil ..it is mixed with other things which makes the consistency more gel like to me.But i love it and use it on my skin everyday. June 15, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Cooling I've been using this for a few months and it hasn't stopped my breakouts/fade scars :( However, the bottle lasts super long so I guess that's a plus. May 27, 2016

    Q&A for Tea Tree Oil
    Sort by
I recently went out and purchased the tea tree oil, toner and facial wash. After applying the toner to my face it began a stinging sensation that went away within seconds, as did the oil. I do have very sensitive skin but out of control acne and after a prolong regiment of creams and pills prescribed by my dermatologist, it's as if my acne comes back in hyper mode despite the skin routine I've done for months. I really am hoping tea tree oil is the answer to clear up acne scars and etc.

    Answer:
it is 100% normal to feel a sting when applying tea tree oil. I use the tea tree line to control adult onset acne - it is the only thing that works for me.

Definitely! All the tea tree products have a bit of a stinging/cooling sensation. I also have sensitive but acne prone skin and the whole tea tree line is perfect for that!!

    Answer:
Most of the time it takes a while for our skin to get use to one product and see the results. Everybody has different skin types and effects on the products. I will suggest to continue to do this for 2 weeks or more and see if there's any changes or not. I experience the same thing but after a while I realized, it is probably cleaning my skin from inside out. I hope this product will help you as it did for me.

    Answer:
I'd say yes, it felt that way for me for the first few times I used it. But now it's more a just slight tingle. But if you put it on cuts or open zits it'll sting a lot for a second or two! I'm sure it'll greatly improve your acne. I tried everything, even acutane, which worked beautifully while on it, but once I stopped it came back wayy worse than ever before! So I gave up on the dermatologist and have been testing out practically everything at the body shop and it's made a huge improvement. I use the tea tree, seaweed and vitamin e ranges in unison.

    Answer:
Yes, The Tea Tree Oil does sting just a tiny bit at first, but to me that means it is "working". It will not cause redness, drying or peeling as with some other "zit zappers". Give this a chance and you will see how much it improves your skin.

    Answer:
I use the lotion on my whole face but the tea tree oil as targeted treatment only on my breakouts.
The tea tree oil works great on the those big and new breakouts, while the lotion is more for fading the scar.

    Answer:
Actually seems a bit redundant to me to use both.

I have used all the main tea tree products... cleanser+toner+moisturizer always a good combo (though I switch out the toner for a less harsh one) but I didn't find a big advantage to using tea tree oil on top of those. The oil totally on its own is pretty great though. :)

    Answer:
I feel as though the amount you apply it varies person to person. There is alcohol in this product, so I was initially worried it would dry out my skin; it did not.
I found that I love this product in conjunction with my moisturizer; I put several drops in with my moisturizer day/night when I apply it and I've found I haven't had to use this oil as a spot treatment anymore. I simply haven't had a breakout in months. (This still boggles my mind.)
If you still have concerns about how often to use it, I'd start using it once a day then move to two and so on. If you notice any adverse reactions (dryness/flakiness/irritation/itchiness/redness) just scale back your use again.
    Good luck!

    Answer:
Thank you for contacting The Body Shop. Tea Tree Oil should be applied as needed directly onto blemishes. It is a targeted treatment that helps to fight blemishes and breakouts - as such, we recommend using it as often as you need to.

    Answer:
Ususally you just apply the tea tree oil once a day, it is a very strong and concentrated product. If you use it too much, it could potentially dry out and really irritate your skin. A skin care consultant at the body shop told me that you might not even need to use it once a day, just whenever you notice a blemish coming, or when having a serious breakout. (if you're using it for acne)

I have my nose pierced and now I have hyper-pigmentation on my nose. Would this help fade away that pigmentation?

If so, how many times per day/ per week am I able to use this on this area?

    Answer:
The Tea Tree Oil is specifically directed towards blemishes and acne in comparison to hyper-pigmentation. Therefore, I would avoid using it as it would not be as effective.

    Answer:
    Hello Neria,

thank you for your interest in The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil. While Tea Tree is great for healing and acting as an antibacterial, it isn't going to address your hyper-pigmentation. Depending on how new your piercing is, our Trainer recommends the following:
    - 0-12 months: Tea Tree is the way to go. Applying it once in the morning and once at night;
    - If your piercing is over 12 months old, try The Body Shop's Moisture White™ Shiso Concentrated Target Perfector once a day, at night. It'll take about 28 days for you to start seeing a difference in the pigmentation.

    Hope this helps!

    Answer:
I would use the Vit E oil serum to fade away any pigmentation issues. It has helped with fading my scaring.

I'm not an expert, but the tea tree line I believe is meant for blemished/acne skin and would possibly make your situation worse. If you go into the store, they can give you a nice hefty sample to fix your issue.

    Hope this helps!?

    Answer:
Tea tree oil is more for helping out with acne rather than hyper-pigmentation. However, I do know some ways to help you out! Vitamin E oil/ enriched products are super great for skin, and helps a lot with hyper-pigmentation, and will do your skin a huge favor! Another way is to lighten your skin! This may sound scary but it's really not. I would suggest you just apply some raw honey to those over pigmented areas, since honey has lightening effects. :) I hope this helped you out!

    Answer:
Facial steaming is a great way to prep the skin for treatments like the Tea Tree Oil. Facial steaming can be achieved by adding 3-4 drops of the Tea Tree Oil to a bowl of steaming (use with caution so as not to burn) water. Lean over the bowl and cover your head with a towel. Breathe deeply and relax for a few minutes. When you are all done, you will emerge with softer, subtle, and purified skin!
