Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite face scrub I use several products from the Vitamin C line on my "maturing" skin, which has varying needs depending on the day. When it starts to look a little dull and has some rough/scaly patches, I use this scrub in the shower in the morning. The granules are very small and I don't feel like it's too harsh to use a few days in a row.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Well! Great value. A little goes a long way! Not too harsh on the skin either. Love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't rub it too hard! This product is great. I use it to exfoliate my skin. I use it at least once a week. A small amount goes a long way. Don't rub it too hard on your face so you don't get break outs! I love the smell of this product too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love to use this as a primer! I love using this produce underneath my makeup as a primer. It not only moisturizes my skin (which is extremely dry) but also helps my foundation to glide on flawlessly. Have been using this as my primer for the past year with zero complaints!

    Answer:
You could cleanse your face first, but for someone like me who has very dry/sensitive skin, I find it works best to just use this in the shower as part of my routine without pre-cleansing.

    Answer:
Yes. And rinse with cold water to close the pores after. Then toner, serum, moisturize and eye cream.

    Answer:
If I still have makeup/foundation on, then yes, I do clean my skin first. But, I don't know that it's required. Actually the microderm granules would probably do a decent job of getting the foundation off. But I bet it will do a better job of actually being a scrub and scrubbing off that dead skin cell layers if it's on clean skin.

    Answer:
Yes, but don;t use an exfoliator. Use a regular cleanser, and then this.

When you do use this, don't press hard on your skin. That can create microtears that can cause more damage. Use light pressure and rub it on your face with your fingertips in a circular motion for a longer period of time.

Afterwards, make sure you have a good moisturizer to use as well because it is going to do a great job of exfoliating your skin, but since it is taking off dead cells, it is going to dry out your skin a bit too.

    Good luck!!

    Answer:
Correct, or you can add a dot of this product to your regular face cleanser.. I prefer to use it that way since it goes on much smoother.

    • Shea Butter

Our Community Trade shea butter is sourced from northern Ghana, where it has been used for centuries to protect skin from harsh Saharan winds. We work with The Tungteiya Women’s Shea Butter Association to produce the rich shea butter we use in our products. The Body Shop provides the 528 women of the Association with a fair wage, and also pays a premium for the women to invest in community projects. Anita Roddick placed our first order in 1994 after an earlier visit to Ghana where she discovered the natural moisturizing properties of shea butter and the amazing women who produced it.
